The primary role of an Assistant Solicitor is the prosecution of criminal cases which will require a lot of your time to be spent in the courtroom handling a combination of jury trials, guilty pleas, motions, and detention hearings. Additional duties include case evaluation, victim/law enforcement meetings, legal research, interagency staff meetings, and working with senior staff. Assistant Solicitors are also afforded the opportunity to regularly attend CLEs, conferences, and trainings in order to stay up to date on the latest trends in the world of criminal law.
